The company joined the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) in early August, completing the verification process for its accumulated consulting export record. As tallied through that process, cumulative exports stood at approximately USD 1.9 million as of August 19.
Information security consulting is widely regarded as a domestic-market knowledge service, tightly bound to each country's laws, regulations and language, and therefore difficult to export. Industry observers describe it as unusual for a Korean consulting firm to accumulate close to USD 2 million in exports and have that record officially verified through the trade association.
A Global Client Base Behind the Export Structure
The milestone stems from the composition of SAK's client base. Most of the company's clients are global corporations with legal entities or operations in Korea, including a number of global big tech companies ranked in the Fortune 100.
Notably, a significant share of contracts is signed directly with overseas headquarters rather than with Korean subsidiaries, with payment made in U.S. dollars. Consulting projects delivered in Korea are procured through the headquarters' purchasing and legal processes and settled in foreign currency, and are therefore counted as service exports.
By location of the contracting headquarters, the United States accounts for the largest share, followed by European countries, Singapore and Hong Kong. Beyond global headquarters in North America and Europe, the company's contracting channels have expanded to entities in Singapore and Hong Kong that serve as Asia-Pacific regional hubs.
"It is not common for the headquarters of a global corporation to contract directly with a Korean firm," a company official said. "What decides the deal is whether you can work the way headquarters requires."
